Living in the Same, But Different Place
Apr 25, 2023
Loss changes you on a deep and very profound level.
Nothing moves. Same furniture. Same house. Same plates and forks. Same sofa and lamps. Yet, everything is different.
Dianne, my person of 47 years, was gone. Her physical presence. Her spiritual being. Her sparkling personality. Her bright blue eyes. Her laughter. My comfort. My peace.
It felt weird. Surreal. Painful. Lost. Hurting. Questioning. Doubting. Numb.
I wanted to find her but couldnât.
I wanted to talk to her but couldnât do that either.
Simple things were overwhelming. Going to the mailbox. Paying bills. Washing dishes. Figuring out what to eat.
On the surface, everything was the same.
On a deeper level, life had changed forever.
My awareness began to change. This was going to be a different life experience than anything I had ever lived through before.
My knowledge of life couldnât explain all that was taking place.
My skill set didnât include loss, pain, grief, and a broken heart.
I soon learned you can live through grief with a Do-It-Yourself approach. And you will get a Do-It-Yourself outcome. You may heal some but not all of the way. You may get stuck. Your grief can get complicated. As a result, you lose time, energy, and life. You lose your joy and purpose.
For some, it becomes your world every day. Sadness. Sorry. Reliving the events over and over again. The questions of, âWhat if?â or wondering, âIf only.â You get on the carousel of hurt and never find a way to get off.
It doesnât have to be.
If you want to cherish your loved one, honor their life, acknowledge your pain, and process it in a healthy way, you need someone who is skilled in the soul work that comes with living forward with a broken heart!
Until we feel the pain, we canât heal it! We need someone to help us feel without being overwhelmed!
To walk with you. To listen deeply. Holding a safe space. No judgment. No criticism. No advice!
