Grief has a way of speaking to us, but not always in words. It shows up as an ache in your chest, a lump in your throat, or an overwhelming sense of emptiness. These feelings can be uncomfortable, even unbearable, but they carry a message: your heart is trying to tell you something.
The ache of grief is a signal. It’s your heart’s way of saying, “I’ve lost something important. I’m hurting. I need care.” But so often, we ignore that ache. We push it aside, bury it, or distract ourselves in an attempt to avoid the pain.
