When the World Moves On, but Your Heart Stays Still

Mar 11, 2025

One of the hardest parts of grief is watching the world move on while your heart feels frozen in time. Friends and family return to their routines. Holidays and celebrations come and go. Life outside your grief seems to carry on as usual, but for you, nothing feels the same.

It’s a lonely feeling, isn’t it? To see everyone else continuing as if nothing has changed while your world feels completely shattered. You might even feel pressure to “catch up” or “move on,” as if there’s a timeline for healing.

But grief doesn’t work that way. It’s not something you can rush or force. Your heart needs time to process, to adjust, to heal. And while the world may not always understand that, there are people who do.

A grief companion can help you navigate this disconnect between your inner world and the outside world. They can remind you that it’s okay to feel stuck sometimes and that healing happens on your own timeline—not anyone else’s.

When the world moves on, it can feel like you’re being left behind. But you’re not alone. I’m here to walk with you at your pace, to sit with you in the stillness, and to remind you that healing doesn’t have a deadline.
